How do I choose between done-for-you branding, or DIY? +

If the idea of taking the time to learn these DIY skills doesn't peak your curiosity, and you'd rather pay an artist to design it for you, check out my signature branding service, In Your Element!

If you're genuinely curious about the brand-building skills that can make you more independent in your business, consider DIY-ing in Brand Ed, my course and mentorship program for non-designers!

What can we get done in a Studio Session design intensive? +

Studio Sessions are for small projects, building from branding you already have & love.

This is best for miscellaneous graphics, like Social Media Templates, Presentations, simpler Webpages, Email Newsletter Design, Print Design, Podcast Covers, and more! If you have an idea but not sure if I can support you, go ahead and inquire and I can let you know! (For developing original branding, such as logo design and font & color selection, it would need more time, understanding of the business, and strategic creative direction. My signature branding service 'In Your Element' would be the better fit for that!)

Do you use AI in your work? +

I mostly use my brain, industry-standard Adobe design software, my iPad, Canva, and a good old sketchbook to create branding. I also love to get tangible with art supplies, when it makes sense for the brand! I do use some AI here and there, but mainly for brainstorming off of my own original ideas and to help articulate ideas better for clients. I also mention ways students can potentially use AI in Brand Ed, but the course does not depend on it if you prefer to be AI-free.

I totally understand the mixed opinions and preferences around AI, so if you have any further questions about this, feel free to email or DM me on Instagram!

Are payment plans available? +

Yes absolutely! For larger projects, it's common to split payments up between 3-5 installments from the time of booking until the end of the project timeline. For Studio Sessions, there are split-pay options too. Brand Ed also offers payment plans!

How long does the process take? +

I don't rush the creative process, and it always pays off—but you'll still hear updates from me every week so you're not in the dark. Letting ideas marinate and inspiration arrive without urgent pressure is part of what makes my work so detailed, thorough, and personalized!

Custom branding projects take up to 2 months, which includes strategy, creative direction, brand element design, refinements, file delivery, and incorporating into Canva. If you add on more services like a website design, we'll widen the timeline.

If you're DIY-ing in Brand Ed, the Homeroom Mentorship students get 10 weeks of access to 1:1 feedback from me, and students have consistently confirmed that this is a great pace for them to thoroughly complete the whole process—from disovery, to creating branding, to implementing. Self-Study can go as fast or slow as you'd like.

Studio Sessions are a quicker turnaround, but still with some breathing room. They usually take between 1-2 weeks, depending on the scope.

How do you handle feedback? +

My spacious process is designed to allow room for reflection, feedback, and ideas to be refined—while also having clear deadlines so that it doesn't drag on for either of us. Since my Creative Direction process is so in-depth, the design phase often has minimal to no tweaking (but there is space for revisions if needed). I find it insightful hearing what clients preferences are, because it helps get closer to where we want to be!

If you're curious about feedback in Brand Ed, it's basically the other way around—I'm the one giving the feedback for students. Most of it happens in our 1:1 Slack DMs, via detailed messages threads, voice notes, demos, or the live group calls. Again, we don't need to rush things! The process has ample space for experimentation together.

How far out are you booking? +

I usually book between 1-3 months out, however it's been longer before during launches or busy seasons. After we've had our initial conversation, I typically hold start dates for 1 week until it becomes available again to the next inquiry. (This window is shorter for Studio Sessions scope and demand.)

But even if you are booked further out on my calendar, that's more time you're on my radar as we prepare for your project to start! Time always feels like it flies by between the booking and start date anyway.
